MEET OUR EXPERTS
Dr. Goodell completed his undergraduate work at the University of Northern Colorado from 1987 to 1990 pursuing a biochemistry major with a minor in microbiology. He graduated from Colorado State University with his DVM in 1994. After graduation he specialized in mastitis and mastitis research placing emphasis on epidemiology and microbiology of mastitis pathogens.
Tessa has a B.S. in Animal Science from Colorado State University and has been with TDA Labs since its inception in 2003. She is also trained as a veterinary technician. Her background in Animal Science allows her to utilize those skills assisting in research projects and veterinary services and her duties in the microbiology lab. Tessa is also certified in ELISA and PCR assays.
Christine has a B.A. in Economics and Finance from the University of Northern Colorado. She began her career working with Banner Health in Greeley. Christine changed her career in 2006. She has completed training in microbiology and has also become certified with ELISA assays.
Candice joined the TDA Labs team in January of 2008. Candice holds a B.S. in Animal Science from Colorado State University and is also a veterinary technician. She splits time between the lab and field work on research projects.
Alejandra was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico. She graduated from the Autonomous University of Chihuahua with a nursing degree and also studied ecology. She has been living in Colorado since 2013. She joined the TDA team in June 2015. Her primary role is receiving and processing all samples that come into the lab. She also spends time on the farm with our vets providing bilingual training programs for the dairy.
Laurel started with TDA Labs in April of 2013. Laurel is our client liaison between the laboratory and our lab clients and manages the courier service TDA Labs has for picking up and delivering samples. If you see the white Ford Transit with the TDA Labs logo on it, chances are Laurel is driving it!
Josh graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Biological Science in the summer of 2009. Since then, his employment has primarily been in wildlife, performing various surveys while researching fish and birds. He joined our team in June 2017. Josh spends most of his time on the DHIA side of the lab running milk components. He also occasionally picks up and delivers samples.
Ali obtained her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, emphasizing synthetic organic chemistry, from Reed College in 2002. She then went on to graduate school at CU Boulder, followed by veterinary school at CSU. After leaving vet school, Ali realized that her real passion was in molecular diagnostics. Ali became the Diagnostics Lab Director at a local veterinary diagnostics lab before joining the TDA team in January of 2021. Ali’s primary focus is in the PCR Lab. She works on the optimization of our current PCR tests, as well as the research and development of new PCR-based diagnostics assays.
Megan graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2019, with a B.S in Biomedical Sciences and a B.S. in Forensic Science. There, her favorite areas of study were Microbiology and Wildlife Forensics. She has previous experience in research and natural history specimen cataloging before coming to TDA in February of 2020. She primarily helps in the PCR and Feed labs.
Ty graduated with a B.S. in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry from East Central University in 2020. He worked in an analytical chemistry laboratory before moving to Colorado. He primarily works in the Media Lab, Feed Lab and the DHIA Lab.
Vikki graduated in 2019 with a B.S. in Biomedical Science. Microbiology was her favorite area to work and study in, and she worked in research and food safety before coming to TDA in 2020. She primarily helps in the mastitis lab.
Evan began working with TDA Labs in November of 2010. He obtained his B.S. in Microbiology from Colorado State University in the Spring of 2010. Evan spends the majority of his time working in the bacteria lab and running milk components on the Fossomatic machine.
Julia graduated with a B.S. in Microbiology from Colorado State University and has worked in a couple of other labs before coming to TDA in August 2016. Her main duties are milk bacteriology and CHARM testing and back up for ELISA testing, assisting with Health Certificates, and updating vaccination records.
